How we test
Pickwell exists to shorten the gap between “I need one of these” and “I bought the right one.” Every category follows the same four steps.
1. Shortlist from real demand
We start from best-seller and top-rated data rather than brand pitches, then cut to the models buyers are genuinely choosing between.
2. Read the fine print
Specifications, warranty terms, replacement-part availability and the pattern in critical reviews — the one-star reviews usually tell you what breaks.
3. Use it like you would
Where we have hands-on access, we test in ordinary conditions over ordinary timeframes, not in a lab for an afternoon.
4. Name one winner
Each page ends with a verdict and the downsides stated plainly. If the cheaper option is good enough for most people, we say so.
